Heidi M. Hanrahan is a Professor of English at Shepherd University, where she teaches literature, literary theory, composition, and gender and women’s studies. Her research interests include nineteenth-century American and British literature, composition, and pedagogy. Her articles have appeared in journals including The New England Quarterly, Poe Studies, MELUS, Studies in American Humor, Feminist Teacher, Response, and Transformations and in collections including Narratives of Community and Liminality, Hybridity, and American Women’s Writing.
