Samantha Przybylowicz Axtell graduated from Widener University with a BA in English and from Mills College with a MA in English Literature. She is currently working on her PhD in English Literature with a focus on Victorian studies at Northeastern University. Samantha’s dissertation-in-progress focuses on nineteenth-century female criminals and how they are treated and received in various fiction and non-fiction genres, including in terms of sympathy, gender politics, and punishments. Samantha’s research interests extend to how nineteenth-century crime rhetoric has evolved and how it appears today in popular culture, specifically in the modern true crime genre, across a range of media.
