Ron DePeter, Ph.D.

Delaware Valley University

Ron DePeter holds a Ph.D. in Composition from Florida State University. He teaches writing and is the director of the campus Writing Center at Delaware Valley University in Doylestown, PA. He is an active scholar in rhetoric, writing center, and popular culture studies, with recent presentations on country-pop artists Jeannie C. Riley and Bobbie Gentry. His article “Hayley Mills and the Constraints of Artifice in Disney’s That Darn Cat!” appears in Walt Disney, from Reader to Storyteller: Essays on the Literary Inspirations (McFarland, 2014).

Ron loved his teachers and classes as a kid, but after school made an impression, too, because that is when he first discovered Kristy McNichol, in one of ABC’s After School Specials. Ron collects music on vinyl, and will never part with his mint copy of “Kristy for Christmas!”
